In the beginning...there was Daniel and Elisha

The story of how Daniel met Elisha is different from how Elisha met Daniel. You're probably wondering how that can be, right? Well, it's possible!

Version #1: Daniel went to a baptism for a friend in his ward. Elisha was also there...but with someone else. You see, the young man getting baptized was deaf, but he attended the Spanish ward. So, Elisha was there with her former fiance to help translate as he knew American Sign Language. Daniel saw Elisha and even said hi to her, but she too was occupied with other things to even notice. Daniel, on the other hand, KNEW at that moment that someday they would be together.

Version #2: Elisha went to institue at the Fugates just like any other week (but months after Daniel met her for the first time). That night, they learned a song about a violin a horn and some other instruments (those of you who have seen "You've Got Mail" will reconize the song). Elisha just happened to be sitting next to Daniel and since he didn't speak much English and Elisha knew Spanish, she helped him out a little.

So as you can see, there are two versions. It will be a never-ending discussion for Daniel and Elisha as to how they met, but the point is...they met.
